Florida native, Captain Mike McLaughlin has fished the West Central Gulf Coast waters for over 35 years. He was born and raised in Clearwater, Florida. His passion for fishing began at a young age, fishing with his father. His father taught him the basic fundamentals of fishing, as well as, the respect for the water and the life below, which helped guide and shape him into the successful Captain he is today. Father of three, Captain Mike enjoys family fishing and especially teaching his children the utmost respect and love for the water.
With 35 plus years experiences on the water, Captain Mike specializes in light tackle, sight fishing, as well as night fishing. His dedication to being a full-time professional captain has him constantly on the water improving his knowledge and fishing skills. One thing is for certain kids love fishing and being the dedicated father he is, Captain Mike enjoys taking young anglers out for the experience of a life-time. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the smiles on their faces as they are fighting countless fish.
If you’re looking for an offshore trip, Captain Mike also enjoys putting anglers on the hot spots for grouper, king fish, American red snapper, mangrove snapper and sharks. As well as being an experienced angler, Captain Mike has participated in numerous fishing tournaments since he was a child, placing in the top rankings of most. He has also dedicated his time to chartering charity events for wonderful causes. Captain Mike McLaughlin charters in a 22 ft. Pathfinder with a 150 hp. four stroke Yamaha motor. It has the top of the line Garmin, side scan, and chart plotter to help make a successful day of fishing, as well as a Minn-Kota wireless, remote control trolling motor. The Pathfinder is also equipped with the Power-Pole blade edition for those swift and silent anchoring moments. Captain Mike strictly uses the top of the line gear, with Shimano Sustain reels, and St. Croix Avid rods to make your day on the water a victory.
